Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been earned on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev secured his first title for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging year, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the American major.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in especial - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with former mentor Cervara.
Now working with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first championship since the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court from that period of that year.
Victory also indicates the Russian has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one different events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, featuring in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's counter-punching play style and recurring emotional displays on court had prompted observers to question if his capacity to perform at the elite level was over.
Yet the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to approach the net and perform aggressively, backed up by an improved service.
The champion came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five games to go ahead.
The pair traded breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his first ATP Tour championship, took control to force a third set.
The opponent defended four early-game opportunities in a close final set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, he clinched the title with a point at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
